Vikas Bahl, who had directed Kangana Ranaut in Queen, now sets his debut in the darker alleys of sports dystopia with “Ganapath: A Hero Is Born.” Give a massive hand to the Academy Award forthcoming now, sweating its excitement over the popular OTT space, Netflix.
When to Watch Ganapath OTT Release on Netflix
Although Netflix hasn’t confirmed it, rumors are that Ganapath will be on the screens in July 2024. This will follow the general rule in Bollywood, where films are released eight weeks after their release in a movie theater. For Ganapath, this was on October 20, 2023.
The delay of its OTT release would spark murmurs about Netflix not being too sure of the visual effects or production nuances of the film. These, however, remain just speculations.
A Dystopian Future Awaits
It is said that the movie unfolds in 2070 AD, in a gritty, dark world far removed from ours. The official synopsis says it: the relentless vigilante Ganapath, embodied by Tiger Shroff. And in this oppressive city run by a very powerful criminal empire, he becomes that hope and determination to flush down this corrupt system and fight for the downtrodden.
Adding star power to the movie is the inclusion of Amitabh Bachchan in a major role.
Ambitious Project with High Hopes
On the OTT release of Ganapath, Jackky Bhagnani, co-producer of the movie, shared, “We are thrilled to showcase one of our most ambitious projects, Ganapath: A Hero Is Born.
This one has been curated with a lot of enthusiasm and a vision that is one of its kind. It ventures into unchartered turf in a dystopian sports film and has many surprises that audiences wait with bated breath for.”
Now, whether Ganapath is going to get a bigger audience waiting for it on Netflix or not, it still would be a sure shot at success—on being the beans of Tiger Shroff’s action hero persona, and those interested in this new genre mashup will definitely be looking out for it when it eventually streams on the platform this July.
